Come Closer has various things happening through the year.
We have monthly Meetings as well as periodic bible studies called ‘study it closer’, which are based in Milton Keynes. We also have a book club called ‘Read it Closer’ that regardless of location, anyone can join us for. See more information below:
Friday October 19th – Birgitte Grace & Emma Beaney
Friday November 16th – Meal with details to follow
Friday December 7th – Mingle and a Jingle – Christmas packaging for MK Storehouse and MK Act
We meet at Milton Keynes Village at 7:45pm.
Read it closer Book Club
We’re excited to be launching the Read It Closer Book Club!
This term we’re reading ‘Digging for Diamonds’ by Cathy Madavan.
Read It Closer is very informal – it’s open to anyone who wants to join in, here’s the plan:
Buy your own copy of the book (e.g. link below or see Amazon or other retailers)
Read at your own pace.
Each chapter has a few ‘Digging deeper’ questions at the end, and a prayer – you might like to make some notes or journal a few thoughts as you go along
We have a Come Closer Facebook group where you share anything that really speaks to you, to encourage others and open up a little online discussion – join in the conversations! You don’t have to be based near MK to join in! That’s the beauty of Read it Closer.
However, we will have a meet up with be somewhere in Milton Keynes on Saturday 24th November at 10:30am to simply chat about the book. Don’t worry if you haven’t finished (or even started!) the book by then – come along anyway! Please email email@example.com for details.
Please note this Book Club doesn’t replace the Come Closer Bible study, it’s just another layer for those who are interested. Feel free to join us!
Study it Closer Bible Study
At Come Closer in September we talked about the opportunity to join us in a new bible study taking place in Milton Keynes this term. Its a 6 week bible study starting in October and ending November by Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur and is called ‘Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed’ based on the life of David.

A taster of previous sessions and speakers:
Speaker Kelly Minter – Tuesday was a great evening! Gathering together with amazing women across the city and beyond! Kelly truly blessed us! We worshiped together and then leaned in to hear what she had to say. She encouraged and challenged us in that reaching out to the poor, lost and least: always leads us to the end of ourselves, but then ultimately to Jesus; reminds us of where we have come from (the grace, power and wonder of salvation); and it is a common entry into God’s story!
Speaker – Rebekah Taylor – Rebekah spoke about the power fear can have over our lives. Read Rebekah’s blog here!
Speaker Birgitte Grace – This was a powerful message where Birgitte broke down the complex subject of the soul into bite sized chunks with brilliant visuals. Thank you Birgitte! We will never forget the bald hedgehog!
Speaker Emma Beaney shared some thoughts with us! “Be encouraged. God is so good, and wants you to come so much closer to Him. To rest in Him, to lean into Him. Let me encourage you to ‘pause’ and take steps over these coming weeks to give him the much needed ‘space’ in your life. I pray you will know His presence, His peace, His life and His altogether loveliness. He is faithful and His love endures forever. Love Emma “
Speaker: Cally Magalhães – We were incredibly privileged and excited to have had Cally Magalhães speak at Come Closer. Cally is an absolute inspiration who runs the Eagle Project – working on the streets and in the prisons of São Paulo – Brazil. The Eagle Project does amazing work, helping each individual rebuild a hope filled future.
‘MY STORY’ Evenings – These are evening where everyday women share something from their life stories. If you have been to a ‘My Story’ evening before at Come Closer, you’ll know this is not to be missed.
