Resources

Use www.biblegateway.com . This is an online Bible (lots of different versions of the bible), useful to look up verses (for journaling!?). They also have various Bible studies, reading plans, and a number of devotional emails you can sign up to if you want. The Encouragement for Today emails are great.

www.wordlive.org Word Live has a contemporary style which is quite fresh and different. They have a great podcast that you might find helpful, you can download it on your phone or computer and play it daily, another way of feeding on God’s word!

Recommended Teen Books

Megan highly recommends Andy Croft and Mike Pilavachi books.
Lifelines is good for getting into your bible. It shows how Jesus is within both the old and the new testament, it also an overview of the bible in 20 pages!
Storylines gives accounts of specific people in the bible. For example, David, Ruth, Solomon etc. Andy and Mike also relate the characters stories to situations in the here and now, and have a bit humour too!

Recommended Books

Deborah Gregg highly recommends a big fat book called ‘Unlocking the Bible’ by David Pawson. She says – This is a big book, but don’t let that put you off. There’s a chapter for every book of the Bible, and gives you essential background info, main themes and message, puts it into context, helps you to understand it.  For me, it is the most comprehensive Bible study guide that is also straightforward to read and really useful to me, helping me to understand so much better. Really great to dip into, for example if you wanted to read through a particular book of the Bible, then also read his chapter about that book at the same time, it really helps to unlock the Bible. It does what it says on the cover…!
